Developer Front End Job at South African Reserve Bank – Pretoria, Gauteng
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
Interpret business requirements and functional specifications, as provided by business analysts, into digital content management solution designs.
Participate in all aspects of the software development life-cycle, which includes the development, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of applications, including customer-facing websites and intranet sites for departments and the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) as a whole.
Serve as an expert in User Interface (UI) development, including User Experience (UX) best practice and pattern library development.
Design and build reusable UI and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) components that will be used to construct digital platforms for both the Internet and mobile devices.
Evaluate new products and libraries, and recommend those that are most appropriate for the current and future working environment.
Drive projects through to completion, which includes gathering all the relevant business information, analysing environments, documenting the technical requirements, and mapping the requirements to a design.
Articulate business and architectural solutions, and design options and/or considerations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaborate with other team members on translating wireframe into functional and technical requirements.
Perform code reviews, and ensure that the team adheres to common coding standards.
To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:
a Bachelor’s degree or an Advanced Diploma in Computer Science or Information Systems, or an equivalent qualification;
strong technical expertise in web development technologies;
familiarity with continuous integration, unit and automated test execution, and building tools such as Maven;
at least five years of software development experience;
at least two years of hands-on experience with UI development; and
at least two to three years of working experience in a digital content management environment, especially AEM (Sites/Forms).
The following would be an added advantage:
- Experience in Microsoft (MS) Team Foundation Server (TFS);
- Experience in continuous integration (Jenkins, SonarQube);
- Experience in Google Analytics;
- Experience in Agile methodology and DevOps.
